A few years ago I was living in England working a 9-5 job and dreaming of the open road. I couldn't stop thinking about how disappointed I'd be if I stayed in the safe lane rather than taking a chance to create memories and friendships that would last forever. So, I dropped everything, bought a bike, and hit the road. We spent lots of time in the Himalayas particularly, covering some of the best motorbike touring countries around the world. That experience lit the fire for motorbike touring in me that led to the creation of Shogun with James. Like James, I'm a regular visitor to Japan, and love exploring its hidden gems. My passion for Japan started early—studying Japanese in high school and going on exchange to Japan was a life-changing experience that made me fall in love with the country. I can't wait to share my knowledge and passion for Japan and motorbike touring with you on a Shogun Motorbike Adventure!
James
My love affair with Japan started in school, where I studied the Japanese language from an early age. Eventually during high school Amar and I went on an exchange trip to Hyogo Prefecture in south west Japan. It was an incredible introduction to this beautiful country, and it sparked a lifelong connection to Japan and its people that has seen me return time and time again. I lived in Tokyo in 2015 teaching English at local schools, and I appeared on national TV in a Japanese samurai drama - you'll have to ask me about that when you come on tour! Japan has so much to offer, from the cities to the countryside, it’s an incredible place that never ceases to surprise and amaze me. Personally, I love nothing more than hanging out with locals in the tiny bars that are dotted all around Tokyo, swapping stories and breaking down barriers. I'm super excited to share my passion for Japan with you on a Shogun Motorbike Adventure!
